Increasing Conversion Rates

Conversion rate optimization is a great way to improve the performance of your website. CRO can significantly improve metrics on your website which are important for your website – key performance indicators – and which turn passive people performing Google searches into valuable conversions and quite possibly customers. At the most basic level, CRO means working out what exactly users are looking for when they visit your website, and then providing that to them. CRO manifests itself in many different forms and it depends highly on your individual website.

CRO is important because it is a cost-effective way to convert a higher percentage of visitors to your website and your online store, and drive up site traffic. It is also cheaper and easier than physically finding more site visitors through advertising, for example.

Optimizing your website is about converting Google searches into the right customers who are within your target market, and not just increasing visitors to your website. It is better to have two potential customers from your target market visit your site than ten people who are not interested in your business at all.

Simply put, conversion rate optimization is the process of increasing the amount of visitors to your website who perform a desired action – such as making a purchase or subscribing to a newsletter – and includes lots of different tools, methods and means of bringing more visitors to your website and turning them into customers.

Not convinced? Statistics show that as little as a 1 second delay in loading a page can reduce conversions by up to 7% and having an intuitive and user-friendly navigation can improve conversions by up to 7%, too.
