Commercial Retouching with Photoshop

Apr 23, 2012Blog, Graphic, Guest posts, Tutorials

It used to be that to get professional pictures you had to find a commercial photographer that could not only take the pictures, but has the ability to develop the film and retouch problems with the picture. It was an art form that required experience and the right equipment and was not something that most amateur photographers could do.

That is why we would pay what we had to for professional pictures. Times have changed and digital photography has been the biggest reason behind the change. The need for expensive camera equipment and editing equipment is no longer necessary to create high quality images. It is now possible for the home photographer to not only take great pictures using the digital cameras that are readily available and reasonably priced, but it is also possible to edit the photos to improve the quality of the images without the need for expensive computer.

Some of the things that you can do with the Adobe Photoshop program are:

Facial retouching that allows you to remove unwanted blemishes and scars

You can get rid of the facial hair that is growing if you want to. You can add makeup and highlights to a face to make it look perfect. The steps to do these things are easy and often only require a point and click of the mouse.

Hanging of eye color

Would you like your eyes to be blue? It is simple with the Photoshop program

Changing body shape

Would you like a bigger chest or smaller butt. Use Photoshop tools to make your body look the way you want.

These are only some of the things that you will be able to accomplish with Photoshop. Other ideas include adding tattoos, making people look older or younger, and whitening of the teeth. While most of these types of edits are not that difficult they do require a little bit of knowledge and practice to use them effectively.

There are many tutorials that are about the ability to do commercial retouching with Photoshop. These can be found on the internet or in many bookstores. With the help of the tutorials, you will quickly learn some to the hidden tricks that professionals know how to do and will soon be turning out you own copies of prints that you could earn money off of it if you wanted to or that you could frame and hang in your own home for others to admire. When they ask how much you paid for it, you can tell them anything you want as long as you smile.

The equipment that is needed is fairly simple. You will need a good digital camera. You will also need a high quality photo printer and the right paper for the printer. The other essential tools include a computer and a photo editing program. If you choose to use the Adobe programs that are available, you will be able to do commercial retouching with Photoshop that will allow you to produce the pictures that you want.

Photoshop has been the leading photo editing program for a long time. Over the years it has improved tremendously and now allows the users to do a wide variety of things to turn the simplest pictures into works of art.
